Pishill Circular Walk via Christmas Common – Saturday 21st March 2026 – 09:30

11 of us met in the church car park after a little tension as to whether Church Hill was a road or track. Alas 2 members were unble to sort out this conumdrum and never arrived. Fortified with coffee kindly left for us in the church porch- very classy- we set off at a good pace to experience the ups and downs of the Chilterns. The sky was blue with aeroplane trails in abundance suffient to play noughts and crosses. I WON. One jolly aeronaut gave us a loop the loop display and all was well. The prospect of a steep hill just before lunch alarmed some of us but we were allowed to take it at our own speed to arrive safely at the top. We dined outside in sunshine and afterwards made good time to get back to cars and home

Notes
The walk takes us through some lovely peaceful countryside with rolling hills and undulating beechwoods with some splendid views in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Lots of birdsong. A bit of mud here and there but not much. One fairly steep grassy climb shortly before lunch.
